Annandale was built in 1904 as the residence of the Secretary to Cecil John Rhodes, Prime Minister of the Cape. With its spreading oaks and restful garden, it epitomises the timeless charm of modern Africa.
It lies just minutes from the bustling Claremont SBD and University of Cape Town, a short walk from world cup sports stadiums and top class schools, and close to shady parks and public transport.
With easy access to major roads and motorways, this is the ideal base from which to explore the attractions of Cape Town, one of the world's top five tourist destinations.
Warmth, care and individualised service from resident owner/managers ensure an unequalled ambience.
There are six double or twin rooms, five en suite and the sixth with private bathroom, all with TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. A full breakfast is served in the dining room, and dinner is available by special arrangement. The guest lounge is upstairs, and a big enclosed balcony is a convenient meeting place for business associates, friends or family.
The Boardroom is our in-house Conference Room suitable for small to medium-sized conferences. Prices are available on request.
Oak trees dominate the large grounds, and there is plenty of secure parking. The large pool is fenced, making it safe for children. There is a braai and patio area next to the pool.
We are situated a stone’s throw from Kelvin Grove Club and Newlands cricket and rugby grounds, with easy access to the Vineyard Hotel, Claremont and Rondebosch shopping centres, UCT, the Newlands and Claremont Clinics and Kingsbury Hospital. We are also on the major routes to the airport, the City, the coast and the Boland with its wine routes.
