About

Nestled against the Roodeberg mountain range that reaches from Fish Hoek to Kommetjie, Makapa Lodge borders SANParks -Table Mountain National Park- on 3 sides with beautiful views spanning the Noordhoek Amphitheatre, the long wide sandy beach of Noordhoek, Chapman’s Peak and the back of the Table Mountain range.
With a wildlife corridor on our doorstep you experience a sense of untouched wilderness with a menagerie of birdlife and wild animals that include Mongoose, wild Tortoise, Striped Mouse and at night, Porcupine. You might even be lucky enough to see a Cape Grysbok grazing on the mountainside and Dassie on the rocks overlooking the Lodge. And then there are our resident Cape Eagle Owls as well as the local troop of Chacma Baboons.
Set in a large, landscaped, indigenous garden you are beckoned to stroll through this fragrant garden and it’s hard to turn down the idea of relaxing on a shady bench set under the big trees or exploring the little pathways with their nooks and crannies.
It’s impossible not to fall in love with Makapa Lodge! A luxury guesthouse offering bed and breakfast accommodation and a most comfortable night’s sleep in our spacious suites (lounge, bedroom and bathroom) where you have the choice of twin, queen and king beds, as well as poolside suites or garden facing. All suites have an outdoor seating area. Enjoy a mouth watering breakfast personally prepared for you by your hosts Jimmy and Vivienne.
We are situated midway between the Atlantic and False Bay coasts and midway between the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain Cableway and Cape Point. This makes our position perfect for day trips out sight-seeing.
Returning to Makapa Lodge after a busy day of sight-seeing, or if you are wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and spend the day at the lodge, you can enjoy a swim in the solar heated swimming pool or relax on a sun lounger under a parasol around the pool, where you are protected should the Cape Doctor (south easterly wind) be blowing.

Poolside Suite

Poolside Suites comprise separate lounge, bedroom and bathroom- shower over bath. Two private areas per suite, one beside the swimming pool and the other in the garden. Rooms have DStv, telephone, mini bars, complimentary tea/coffee & electronic safe

The Garden Room

Sleeps: 2 Extra sleep: 0

A large room with natural stone walls and wooden panelling, situated snug in the garden with a view of Chapman's Peak mountain. It is tastefully furnished with pine double wardrobe and chest of drawers, king size bed and a comfortable seating area. The lounge area has a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and an electronic safe. The main room leads to a luxury bathroom with slipper bath and a separate walk-in shower room. Outside is a rustic patio area. This room is popular with honeymoon couples.

The Nest

Sleeps: 2 Extra sleep: 0

The Nest (sleeps 2) a privately situated Log-cabin has lovely views of the ocean and mountains. This cosy cottage has a fully self-contained kitchenette and a dinette. It is furnished with a double bed, it has a TV, a safe and has its own bathroom.
